Athens & Jerusalem

The Contributors

We are Alpheus and Withywindle, two friends who are also both conservative academics. One of us is a classicist; the other, a historian. We are interested in our profession, in history and literature, and in modern politics and culture -- and we will write about all these subjects (and whatever else touches our fancy) in this blog.

Comment Etiquette

Please respond to what we have written rather than going off on some off-topic rant.  Please be minimally polite to us in particular, and to conservatives and Republicans in general - at the very least, phrase your critiques with civility, not venom. Please be relatively brief.  We reserve the right to delete comments that fail to meet these standards.
